Energy audit or energy audit, is an energy conservation and emission reduction measure taken by the Hong Kong government since the full implementation of the Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance in September 2012, which stipulates 13 types of new buildings or existing buildings for "major renovation works" The "Building Energy Efficiency Code" must be complied with when building. The four major building equipment, including air-conditioning, electrical installations, lighting, lifts and escalator installations, must meet basic energy efficiency standards and designs.

The Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance also requires the commercial parts of existing commercial buildings and comprehensive developments to conduct energy audits for the four major types of central building services installations in the buildings every 10 years. The energy audit must appoint a "registered energy "Effectiveness Assessor" conducts audits in accordance with the latest "Energy Audit Code" at that time, and must display the energy audit results at the entrance.

Registered energy assessor

As of 2023, there will be less than 1,400 people in Hong Kong with the qualification of registered energy assessors.
